They are bulbs! They light 💡 up!!

I have a old rechargeable torch in the 'electric' cupboard under the stairs which if the power cuts will flash so you can take it off its holder and use in an emergency.I thought I would upgrade the bulb from a krypton to led as they have a lower power drain so should last longer? Plus they have a clean white light against the old yellowish glow and should be brighter? Should?This was a easy straight swop, no issues and it worked! But, the light output is really very poor. The old krypton bulb even with that yellowish light is actually a lot brighter! So, quite disappointing really.As it is a emergency only light I didn't change it back as we have plenty of more powerful lanterns and torches to use. It's just convenient to check the fuse box to see if anything had tripped?Just goes to show not all new technologies are better.
