I pondered over how to easily connect my oscilloscope to the pins of DIP chips. The clamp on a typical probe is too big and clumsy to grab hold of a leg and so I went in the search for some mini test hooks. After some research I considered some quality made 'Pomona' test clips but these seemed hard to source and can be expensive when you factor in shipping.These Chinese-made mini test hook probes are perfect for what I need. They do NOT come ready soldered with any wire, which is exactly what I was looking for (unlike some other reviewers). I stripped back a small length of solid core wire and created a bent exposed part outside of the plastic enclosure to allow me to attach the oscilloscope probe. Soldering the wire to the hook assembly was very easy (at least with lead solder, which I always use.) Perfect solution.These are cheap and may not last... but there are 30 of them and so I have plenty of replacements if they break. They will do the job perfectly for what I need.
