Very Review-y

I had the opportunity to review this as part of the Amazon Vine program :)These Ryaco binoculars for kids are actually a really nice bit of kit if you want something that feels a bit more serious than the usual plastic toys you get in party bags. They’ve got proper 8x magnification (which apparently is the “sweet spot” for kids, according to my mate who thinks he’s David Attenborough), and they’re light enough that younger kids can hold them without wobbling all over the place. The build is solid for the price. The rubber coating means they’ll survive a few drops or being chucked in a backpack, and the eyepieces are soft so you don’t have to worry about anyone poking themselves in the eye. The focus is fixed, so there’s no fiddling with dials just point and look, which is ideal for little ones who want to get straight to the action. They come with a neck strap, a little bag, and even a whistle with a compass and magnifying glass attached, which is the sort of thing that would’ve made me feel like a proper explorer as a kid. The image is surprisingly clear for a kids’ pair - good enough for spotting birds, squirrels, or just spying on the neighbours (not that I’d recommend it).If your kid is desperate to join in on nature walks or just wants to play at being a wildlife expert, these are a good shout.★★★★★ – Excellent

Binoculars come in all shapes and sizes with all types of magnification available but looking to give a new interest to a 7 year-old grandson who has an inquisitive mine compactness is a desired feature, so spotting these Ryaco™ Binoculars for Kids offered for review under the Amazon Vine programme they looked ideal for this purpose. Aimed at 4-8 year olds the size reflects the age, with 8x magnification ideal for looking at objects of interest such as birds or animals; or playing the sort of war games children of that age still made up when not glued to a mobile phone, allowing them to ‘spy’ on the ‘enemy’. Given they are designed with children in mind the lenses are plastic, and there are no sharp edges anywhere. There’s the usual range/magnification altering setter in the middle of the lenses, with a camouflage paint pattern for added authenticity – although they are also available in shocking pink and electric blue. Given the age range the gap between lenses is easily altered, with non-toxic natural rubber eyepieces to exclude extraneous light. There’s a good extra in a safety whistle that includes a compass which is a nice touch. They can be carried around the neck with a cord, or with a band around the waist depending on preference. However I docked one mark because the neck cord doesn’t come apart like a lanyard will, which I think is an important safety defect. At £13.99 however I think they give good value for money for the inquisitive child and those who like imaginative play, and certainly have been well received by the grandson.

Great for kids - these are miles ahead of the cheap plasticky kids binoculars you usually see - they are well made, solid and have very good clarity. They are easy to focus with a fixed 8x zoom which is sufficient to magnify but not too much that kids find it hard to focus on a subject. They are no frills ensuring easy of use and a nice weight, not too light to feel cheap but not too heavy that they are cumbersome.

Perfect little gift for kids or a novice and just want for occasional use. These are compact , easy to use and easy to adjust. They are clear but they are not gonna be your top of the range for the money paid but for the price the quality is good. We go and sit up in our special place quite often looking out and you can see quite a way with these. Enough for our kids to be happy. Comes with a nice little case to keep them in. We keep them in the door pocket of our car so we always have them at hand.

These binoculars turned out to be so much better than I thought they would considering the low price (12.99 at time of order). They came in a box that also contained a whistle that had a compass on one side and a thermometer on the other side. They are REAL binoculars, not just the cheap plastic toy ones so often made for kids, which is why my son wanted them. The binoculars come in a nice storage case to protect them. This can be attached to a belt. The binoculars feel weighty and good quality. They are coated in a camo pattern silicone which is nice for grip. The lenses feel like great quality and the magnification is accurate. It's not as high as my son really wanted but it still adds a decent amount of magnification when sightseeing or out viewing nature. The binoculars come with a strap that attaches on the top of them. This does mean that the strap gets in the way of the lenses when you lift them up to your face and all straps on binoculars should attach underneath instead of on top because of this issue. These came with decent instructions which tell you how to get them to focus properly. Great advice as I wasn't aware you had to adjust one eye at a time. The extra accessories were a nice surprise and my son will love taking these on holiday to the coast to look out over the oceans/sand dunes. For the price they are well worth it.
