A wood stove, I’m learning, is like a gas engine. A glorified air pump. Like on an engine, air leaks rob you of performance from your stove.This gasket material worked very well for me to remove some air gaps in my LogWood Stove. I picked it up for 100$ in the rain. Has a chunk missing from the damper plate that I need to Bondo back to function. However. The door gap and damper clearance to the bottom of the door were open as much as 1/4”. It appears to be a manufacturers detail. I added 1/8” x 1/2” angle rails under the damper to raise it. I used more of this gasket as a slide for the damper on the top of the angle. I had to grind the top of the damper level, but the gap is closed.
