My son & I have used these kind of mechanical disc brake calliper quite a few times over the years when brining a neglected bike back to life, they aren't flashy or hi-tech, they are just a basic simple calliper that works which at the end of the day is all you really need for a bike that's used around town.This one arrived this afternoon and half an hour later I had it on a bike and set up, it's really that simple.The castings are solid and well machined where it matters the threads in the adjustment point has no slack and no worries about it working loose and messing up the brake adjustments.The basic black finish is easy to clean and unfussy.I'm quite happy using these for a general use bike or a bit of off-roading through woodland tracks etc.
