Extremely disappointed in the size of this ‘L’ dish for an extortionate cost. Way overpriced. And no lid like the cheaper plastic ones. A big thumbs down for your greediness. Also states in product specifications that components included ‘spoon’. No spoon arrived

The “large” is a 6” diameter bowl 2 inch deep. Almost a plate with a small wall. It’s smaller than any bowl I have in my home.

About 3 months ago, I bought the Sea to Summit X-Bowl, which is a very similar collapsible bowl to this one. You can check it out here: been using the X-Bowl for my lunches at work, and overall I've been very happy with it. However, the sides are pretty flexible and I sometimes feel like the sides might collapse down at an unfortunate moment.New from Sea to Summit, the "Detour" collection has a new version of the collapsible bowl that seems like a solid improvement to me.I ordered the Detour bowl in size Large, which is 31 oz. When opened, it looks like the size of a normal cereal bowl. (In comparison, my X-Bowl is size XL, which is 38 oz and slightly larger than a normal cereal bowl.)But the biggest difference is the fact that the Detour bowl is made with a metal base and a metal rim. Because the rim is metal, the bowl feels MUCH more sturdy and less prone to accidentally collapse! When you expand it, it pops solidly into place. It's not hard to collapse, but it does require real intention. I don't fear that I might bump it the wrong way and find it starting to collapse.There's a grippy, rubber ring around the bottom of the bowl too, so it doesn't slide on a table, and any heat in the bowl won't transfer directly to the table either.Unfortunately, the metal base does conduct heat better than the hard plastic base of my X-Bowl, so I've found it slightly harder to hold when it's full of hot food.I ordered the Detour bowl in the dark gray color called "Beluga Black" which I really like because it is only marginally darker than the metal base and rim. So the bowl doesn't even look collapsible — just a normal bowl with a subtle ring of color.This Detour bowl is definitely going to replace my X-Bowl for daily use at work. I suppose the X-Bowl will get "demoted" to serve as a portable dog bowl when I'm out hiking and camping.

Picture attached for comparison with a regular plate. It is indeed a great bowl, lightweight yet sturdy. It is also easy to fold. However, I would not recommend this bowl as it is suitable for oven use only and not microwave safe. I would prefer a full silicone bowl. Overall it serves the purpose I bought it for. It has been a great companion on hikes, but I will not use it as an everyday bowl since it is quite small.
