This cook set is awesome! I really am a fan of Sea to Summit equipment. The set didn't disappoint, The set fits all together and locks in place with the pan handle. The plastic cups and bowls are ribbed so they don't slip out of your hands when using them. This will be my go to for backpacking trips.

For the good parts -I really like the size. It is plenty big enough to make one of those knorr rice packets with room for stirring/serving. I think it would be a good size for mac n' cheese, boiling plenty of water for multiple freeze dried meals at once etc. It seems to pour well, meaning you don't spill water all over the place when you are trying to pour from it. I like the little rubber thingy on the lid for handling it while hot - I have an older soloist cook set, where I need to use something (stick/leaves/clothing etc) to handle the lid and the pot. for this set, between the rubber thingy on the lid, and the lengthy handle, I don't need anything extra to be able to handle it.For this camping trip I was using the pot on a platform type stove and I found it nice and stable. I don't know if I would trust it balanced on one of those backpacking pedestal type stoves though. You would probably have to keep a hand on the handle for stability I think.I saw others comment that their non-stick coating was flawed/had bubbles. Mine was fine, and made the pot nice and easy to clean. I would def use utensils in it carefully though. The cups/bowls were as expected. The lids on the cups snap on well, and the cups are a good size for coffee. Maybe a bit small if you are looking to chug some water after a long day, but that's what a water bottle is for. The bowls were a good size to eat a meal from. All seemed a nice thickness and sturdy, as well as easy to clean. Now for the bad - as some other reviewers mentioned, the handle really is to fiddely for a backpacking pot. As others mentioned, it is pretty heavy. I didn't find mine wobbly - but I could see how it could become wobbly over time. But the clincher - I couldn't figure out how to open the dang thing! Every other backpacking pot of this type that I own (I have several), the handle is hinged...no that is what I was expecting with this. So I was pushing, pulling, wiggling - nothing! couldn't get it open and had a really sore thumb from trying to press in the button. I even reached out to Sea to Summit to ask if my pot was defective. While waiting for a reply, I figured out how I had to press and lift the handle (while wiggling) to lift it out, and then replace it in the other/outward position. This is not very intuitive. Also, in order to releast the handle, you need to press the button in quite hard while giving the handle a little wiggle - it's not easy. If you have arthritis or bad hands at all, your going to have problems using this. Also, if it's a cold morning and your hands are cold - forget about it. That's really the main reason I had to deduct a star for this. The handle should not be that hard to use. I can live with the weight because for me this will mainly be a car camping pot. If backpacking with a group where I would need a pot this large, I would likely separate it out and make someone else carry the cups/bowls, and one person carry the pot/handle.

All You need is flatware for 2, a utensil set, a campfire and beautiful scenery with pretty trees and a lake. Campsite 39 here we come...! The Cook Pot is well made and has a top and the bowls & cups are nice too, they feel good in my hands...! The cook pot will work well on a gas hot-spot or an electric or solar one...& I would not hesitate to use the cook pot on a wood or charcoal fire, of course using a bar of plain soap on the bottom of the pot to make it easy to get the soot off. Can't wait to use this camping set on my next day hike...! ! !
