Good size to hold various first aid items. The color and markings make it easy to find in a backpack or car. I thought about getting another one to hold first aid stuff for the house.

Is it better than a ziplock bag? Simple answer: Absolutely, for me. Long answer: Used as shell to waterproof a 8 to 10 person hiking crew primary first aid kit used in rockies and AT. I've used ziplocks and other bags before, they tear up and get holes. The 3L version of this fits around my hikers FAK perfectly, is the only orange bag in my backpack - easy to locate and pull out - and it seals well like other dry bags I use. I no longer put every item in the FAK in smaller ziplocks, which give me more room. On rugged 2 week treks the FAK is used daily, does better than ziplocks, and within a couple days everyone in the crew knows what the crew FAK looks like - you can't miss it. If you've hiked long treks with teenagers this may resonate with you. I love this bag, it should be half the price though.

Just large enough to hold the bare necessities. Have used it hiking and kayaking. Our gear got wet but our kit stayed dry. It served its purpose.
