Once upon a time I bought a Western Digital Red 4TB disc. Within 6 weeks the disc got corrupted. And I got a replacement. At first they wanted to give me a factory re-issued disc, but in the EU I am entitled to a new disc, so after getting HOT that's what I got ;-)That disc held about a year or so and it went with bad sectors. Western digital replaced the drive with a re-certified (or something like that) disc. That held about a year or so before it also lost it's spirit.Then I decided to switch to Seagate Pro. I think that was about a year ago on a single drive Synology NAS.In august 2021 Western Digital announced that their MyBook Live NAS which I did not dare to connect to Internet anymore because it's firmware was not updated by Western Digital anymore, got security issues. Users that had them connected to internet reported that their drives were deleted by some viral bug.I used a single bay Synology NAS, but kept the WD MyBook Live NAS as a Back-up drive. So I did not need it to be connected to internet. But still I was uncertain about the WD product. And even more because in the past I already experienced another WD external drive that without warning gave up it's joy for life.So I decided it was time for a two bay NAS. Naturally I did not want any Western Digital product anymore. So again I bought a Seagate Iron Wolf Pro, to go with a new two bay Synology NAS. And this seller delivered it on the spot. On time as promised.

I’ve bought this over last year ago and until now my Seagate Ironwolf Pro 4TB have stopped working and lost my data loss and i have only left two year warranty for Recover Data Loss and they never recovered my data loss and just replaced drive? What a f* joke. I’ve returned and got my money back. Seagate get f* up seagate drive. NEVER BUYING FROM SEAGATE AND STAY AWAY ALWAYS. SAVE YOUR MONEY UP UNTIL YOU BUY NEW SSD FOR TLC ONLY! AVOID BUYING HDD AND QVO!

I needed some larger drives to have a backup for my Raid0 config in case of a failure. I have migrated from a Synology DS920+ to a DS1621+ with 10 GbE. To benefit from the fast read and writing speeds over my 10 GbE LAN i needed to put SSD’s in Raid0 to achieve those 10 gigabit transfer speeds. So i’ve got two EVO 870’s 2TB in raid0, ordered another pair EVO 870’s 4TB to put also in Raid 0 to replace my old WDC Reds which are too slow. (350 MB/s tops in Raid0.)So since the regular drives are intended to be used daily for a scheduled backup in case of a Raid0 failure (using HyperBackup) i needed some normal large spinning drives to save costs. Since the fuss at WD with there SMR/CMR rip-off, and later having issues with other models to program 7200rpm drives as 7200rpm drives instead of “5400 rpm class” drives because of some deeply written smart firmware that they cant fix i was done for with WD. So next in cue where the Seagate’s.To be honest, i’ve never been big fan of seagate. Don’t know why. But today i still am not.Ordered two Seagates Wolf Pro: 4TB and 8 TB.Setup in my DS1621+ is like this; tray1 evo, tray2 evo, tray3 4TB seagate, tray4 WDC 4TB, tray5 WDC 4TB (both WDC’s will be swapped for evo’s once there here) and tray6 8TB Seagate. So the two seagates are apart from each other by some distance.two things;resonance noise. Terible! A constant humm-humm-humm-humm-humm. Even with just one Seagate drive. With two of them its even worse! (got the WD Reds removed to make sure those where not the problem; they weren't)Searched the google; known issue. Solution; get some velcro tape on the drive trays to made them squeeze tight inside, ive even put the whole NAS on foam pads. No luck. The NAS is in the fusebox room, two doors in between. Stíl hearing that awefull noise. Bad reviews to about these vibrations. People got bad sectors or complete drive failures.Second, heat. Darn! 45 C in idle! Thát is affecting lifespan for sure. Normal operating temperature is up to 50 C according to Seagate specs. I am sure that under load the drive would be beyond that 50 C.When i saw that i was done with these seagates.I’ve retuned both if them. Will go for a 5900rpm wd red, older models instead.I wouldn't recommend anyone buying these drives.

Goede en snelle harddisk voor mijn NAS, met veel opslagruimte. Ander voordeel, je hoort hem bijna niet.

Purchased two Seagate Ironwolf Pro 6TB drives to complete my Synology 8-bay NAS. Have been running with 6 drives with the intention of getting the last two as hot swap drives when the price was right. Popped these two in and they immediately spun up and added the extra safety I was looking for. They also arrived much quicker than expected since I was not in a rush.

It works as it should! No problems! You get around 3,7 Tb of storage like expected

IronWolf Pro almadan önce WD Black serisinden bir disk bakmıştım fakat hem ilk satın aldığım 4TB Black modeli hem de sonrasında farklı bir firmadan aldığım 8TB Barracuda Pro modeli refurbished (yenilenmiş) disk olarak geldiğini görünce iade edip Amazon üzerinden sıfır IronWolf Pro aldım, en azından kafam rahat ve sıfır disk kullandığımı biliyorum. Garanti kaydını da site üzerinden seri numarasıyla yaptım, diski aldığım tarih ürünün garanti başlangıcı olarak görünüyor. Yenilenmiş disklerde garanti kaydı bile çıkmıyordu bilginize, bu kadar para verip de yıllarca çalıştırılmış ve yenilenerek satılan bir disk almak hoş olmaz taktir edersiniz ki...
