Received the drive 2 days after the order, even when announcing a 2 week delivery.Drive shows that it was brand new (I forgot to check the power on hours but after a week it shows 197h which sounds correct to me).It is a pretty silent dirve, I barely hear it if at all.All in all, it's a perfect drive that I would recommend gladly !

I bought this hard drive as I was using a 3 TB for things like Windows APPS, games and programs. I typically like to keep my C drive free of these programs and primarily use it as my boot drive and downloads. This drive was swapped over without issue.Things I've noticed1) Decent amount of weight to the drive2) There the middle screw hole is not there. So make sure you have the spacing required to mount the drive. I think it is accommodate the extra platters and it was a design decision to have this removed.On a new drive, it is usually best to do a new format oft the drive. On a 6 TB drive of this size, it will take around a half day to format. This usually ensures that the preparation covers all sectors of the drive.Using checkdiskmark, the drive is reported as healthy with no abnormal problems or errors. I does run a couple of C hotter than my 3TB drive. Also, I can confirm this drive (sent by goharddrive) is a new drive as this program is able to tell you how many times it was powered on and how long the drive has been running.In regards to speed and performance, games seem to load very quickly and I was copying files anywhere from 120 to 200MB/s. This varied depending on file size.Now the loudness, it's not a very loud drive at all. The only time I hear anything is when the computer is turned on. But when copying files or and during idle, it's very inaudible.It was a close decision between this and the Western digital black. This is probably the closest drive you can get that will have any resemblance to capabilities, performance and quality of the black. Plus, this drive comes with a 5 year warranty. A long warranty gives me a peace of mind knowing the manufacturer stands behind product and will last. Also keep in mind, if you get the refurbished version of the drive, they give you only 1 year warranty.I recommend this drive and it offerers excellent performance and space for the price.
