I bought many pairs of these and other Sealsskinz socks over the years. My very discerning husband is besotted by them because they keep his feet perfectly dry when traipsing round in non waterproof shoes. Even if you walk in them for hours. Why the dear chap doesn’t opt for normal socks and fully waterproof footwear is anyones guess, but I can’t be the only one with a mildly cuckoo hubby. Also, they are great for boating ( apparently, according to my other half). I can’t get all that excited about a pair of socks, but I’m passing on the raves from the wearer. According to him they are THE invention of the century.

Habe sie jetzt intensiv 2 Monate in Sandalen getestet. Am Anfang hielten sie noch trocken, mittlerweile werde ich aber selbst bei Nieselregen nass. Mag also vielleicht wasserdicht sein, wenn man sie in festen Schuhen trägt aber definitiv nicht in Sandalen.

I’m not sure what to make of these - I’m pretty new to the waterproof sock game and I’ve heard great reviews about Seal Skins - although I’m not blown away by my first pair.I own another brand of socks that rhymes with the second name of a wizard who defeated Lord Voldemort, and they (so far) seem much superior.After one wear mountain biking, these ones are already scagged - admittedly that could have happened with the other socks - but I’ve used them a few times and no scags on those.Another slight issue is the top of the socks don’t feel tight enough - I don’t have the skinniest ankles, but they aren’t super wide either. It feels as though water could potentially get in through this way.The packaging features a rather cool piece of kit - an NFC tag which takes you straight to the Sealskins website - great technology, but the same could have be one with a QR code and kept the overal price down.On a plus point - they are incredibly waterproof and I’m look forward to testing them out in the future.With the other socks that rhyme with the wizards second name - they came in a tad big - however these are a pretty perfect fit.Overall not bad, I’m not blown away just yet. But a bit more riding and more testing and I’ll be happy to report back on the lifespan of these!
