it’s a great product that just wasn’t fully thought through …Pros: When assembled and if the corrugated hose stays put, it removes a lot of water per stroke; does not require much arm strength; innovative base leaves just a scant skim of water that is easily removed with a small sponge or small towel; seemingly rust proof (though can’t see the inner workings).Cons. The holder for the corrugated hose when disassembled is silly engineering, laughable actually. I had to fabricate a lashing to hold everything together when disassembled; the corrugated tube does not float and it sinks rather quickly; so when (not if) it falls off, don’t be over deep water; the black gasket that goes over the corrugated tube (to hold it into the pump) sometimes stays behind when the pump is disassembled. It takes some futzing to get the gasket back out; this next issue is a very annoying: the ginormous side sticker disintegrates when wet leaving paper crumbs all over the freshly washed dinghy … um, perhaps a waterproof sticker for a pump used in wet environments?Bottom line. The non waterproof sticker kinda sums it up - it’s a great product that just wasn’t fully thought through. It could use some design refinement in its next iteration. It’s awkward to transport disassembled unless you make your own lashing but then I gotta tie and untie - the hose should snap in/out securely. Futzing with the gasket is annoying but not a deal killer. It works pretty well once past these issues, though I’d prefer a design where I don’t have to worry about losing the corrugated tube overboard.
