The mount to the helmet appears to use real 3M VHB tape, and the adhesion is very solid. Shouldn't have to worry about it coming off during the action. The mount has teeth to keep the "unicorn horn" locked into the angle that you want.This mount allows you to attach a camera directly with the screw post, or using the carbon fiber extension rod. I would recommend using a 360 camera like those from Insta360, as there isn't any real way to make sure the camera rotation is locked for a traditional action camera. It does come with silicone washers that may help with this purpose, but I prefer to be able to quickly take the rod on and off my helmet without worrying about losing them.For snowboarding, it gives a great view of the trail, better than any chest mount could. It's quick and easy to screw on the rod before a run, and unscrew it after the run. The rod itself is significantly lighter than my collapsible selfie stick from Insta360, and is much thinner and easier to stow than the selfie stick.

I got this as I needed a lightweight stick to record my rides. Previously I had the action camera attached directly to the helmet or the bike front but this stick connected to my helmet top has given me some really nice shots from a new view.

I use this for my 360 camera at work. Mounts to my hard hat and allows me to take photos without holding the camera leaving my hands free to operate the iphone that run s the app. Adhesive is great and secures the mount easily. I don't use the extension just the base. It allows enough motion to get the right angle for a great photo. I highly recommend this to mount a light weight camera to your helmet or hard hat depending on your application.
