I received the Haute 42 Hautepad R16 relatively fast after I shipped it and man, it was pretty good.It has a pretty simple setup before getting the controller to work with your games. You might have to watch a (short) YT video about setting it up for your first time though as it comes with a piece of paper whose instructions leave a bit to be desired. After that (small) initial hurdle, you’re good to go.If you’re new to these type of controllers, keep in mind that they primarily work with 2D fighting games and if you try to get them to work with other genres of games (or even non 2D fighting games) you’ll either run into poor results/it not working at all.It’s decently heavy but not so heavy that you couldn’t carry it in a bag. Haute typically has smaller, lighter controllers if that’s more your speed.The Buttons are pretty responsive, not much delay between button press and action which is good. The LED monitor in the top left corner (and the LED buttons light up) perfectly displays what buttons you’re pressing. Also the LED lights are *chef’s kiss*. The design of it is slick and slim, pretty cool if ya ask me.I could definitely say it’s worth the price tag, but again if $100 is a money sink that you’re not willing to put forward, this same company has just as good options at lower price points [also might not have the cool LEDs :( ]

Setup was pretty simple and worked easily. Customisation for each game worked well. I'm glad they've switched to USB C, I wish everything was USB C as it makes life so much easier with everything using the same connector.No issues with lag or responsiveness. As part of a full setup this is a great addition for gaming.

Wirklich ein super leverless Controller und in der R-Serie sogar mit richtiger Größenverteilung bei den Tasten; also 24 Äquivalent für alle Tasten außer der Daumentaste, die als 30 mm Äquivalent ausgeführt ist.Hier in der klassischen Haute/Cosmox klaren bzw. weißen Version, die die Beschriftung der Tasten zeigt und auf der Rückseite auch eine Kurzanleitung bietet, welche Taste beim Einstecken welchen Modus aktiviert. Bei der schwarzen Version gibt es das nicht. Ebenso kann dort nicht, wie hier sehr wohl möglich, ein eigenes Artwork zwischen die Platten gelegt werden.Die R-Serie ist noch dünner als die T-Serie eh schon war. Und diese hatte bereits mit einem eventuellen "Durchbiegen" des Controllers zu kämpfen. Das ließ sich immer noch wieder ausrichten und man konnte die Verschraubungen minimal lösen um dem vorzubeugen, aber ich hatte bei der T-Serie bereits angemerkt, dass die Acrylplatten dicker sein müssten, um das zu verhindern.Sehr gute vier Sterne bleiben. Genau so wie Haute/Cosmox im Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ungeschlagen bleibt.

The first thing I noticed was that the device is a bit bendy because it's made by sandwiching several layers of flexible plastic together and bolting them together around the edges. From what I've read though, most of these things are like that and I suppose if you don't purposefully bend it then there shouldn't be any problems. Once set up, it works great. The lights look good. There is do perceivable lag from any of the buttons, at least not that I am able to notice. Overall it's nicely made, works well and I'm enjoying using it, so I would recommend it.
