The greatest compliment I can pay is to record that I have replaced the saddles on all three of my bikes with Selle Royal gel models. I thought this 'moderate' example might seem a bit 'old man- ish' and out of place on my rather cool new Boardman road bike, but not in the least- it looks very smart indeed. I already have enough experience of these saddles to know that they are very well made and will last for years with little deterioration. Most important of course is the transformation of ride comfort, which is nothing less than amazing.Narrow bone- hard saddles may be ok on 'out and out' racing bikes with drop handlebars since the rider usually adopts a fairly horizontal riding position and for much of the time places little weight on the saddle, but any bike with straight bars imposes an upright stance and a real need for a saddle that focuses on comfort. Unfortunately it's all about style and, conveniently, it just happens that many (not all) 'racing' saddles can be dirt cheap to produce!There are actually two 'moderate' Selle Royale models, this being the narrower of the two. I fitted the wider one to a hybrid mountain bike and in my view that is as broad as should ever be necessary. Similarly a narrower saddle than this 60 degree design (as now on my Boardman) would sacrifice comfort for no real compensating advantage- that's just my opinion.There are nice details. The fixing rails have a 'corrugated' finish for extra grip on the mounting bracket and there's a loop fitting at the rear (hidden by a removable cover) that can carry a saddle bag or rear light. I have examined several makes of gel saddle: the others may be as comfortable and somewhat cheaper to buy, but they are a lot less stylish and I know I can rely on Selle Royal quaity (made in Italy). Anyway if you pay several hundred pounds for a bike it cannot be a bad thing to invest another £30 or so to quite transform the ride comfort.

Every "true" cyclist will tell you that you need to buy padded bibs to ride with. My thoughts are "why do I need to buy padded underwear to ride an uncomfortable saddle?" Why can't I just get a comfortable saddle?Well, this one isn't the case. The gel is comfortable (with just shorts on). Broke it in on a 45km ride, and it was amazingly comfortable! (And yes, I'll be the first to complain about how I feel my sit bones for 2 days after a ride on a true cyclists "good" saddle).Pros:- Comfort gel seat supports the sit bones perfectly- elastomer springs under the seat give some nice bump cushion- the seat rails are LONG! This is the primary reason I bought this seat so I could push it back another 1" since my bike is just a bit small for me.- looks great! Most comfortable seats don't look very niceCons:- none really. It costs a bit more, but it looks like a quality Italian made productThey also have a Respiro model that is the exact same dimensions, but has a air channel from the front up through the top out the back to cool. The seat isn't as soft as this one though.

I bought this seat 10 years ago and put in many miles on it. This the best seat I’ve ever used on an off-road or road bike.Prior to landing on this Selle Royale saddle, I tried many expensive road bike seats by the same company, Fizik, the classic Brooks leather saddle, and others. They were all uncomfortable. I’m a slim 165-pound 6-foot guy and had various perineum discomfort with all the saddles I tried before this one, some coating over $125. 😵I rode another Selle Royale men’s seat with a groove cut out in the center (might have been the Respiro) to avoid putting pressure on my my proatate wound up causing a terrible ischial tuberosity (sit bone) bursitis that was a long nightmare and took lots of PT, PRP injections, and osteopathic and chiropractic adjustments to resolve months later. I was in pain whenever I sat. The sides of the groove channel were too hard and poked into my sit bones. 😫Along came this seat, with thick-enough padding to not put hard pressure on my perenium in most sitting positions (upright to aggressive folded-over road riding), but also not look preposterously large. It does add a bit more weight to the bike, but I’m not a professional rider for whom every ounce adds up. The pain relief does add up though, and this is an affordable seat you have enough time to try out to fit into the return timing.

Compré este producto por el precio y, sorpresa, en lugar del modelo pedido, el Look In, me llegó el modelo modelo Lancia (modelo descatalogado, muy usado y con la serigrafía gastada). Se ve que algún listillo compró el modelo Look In y lo cambió por el usado de su bicicleta y por el motivo que sea amazon sólo comprobó el código de barras del cartón, que éste sí correspondía al sillin Look In y lo volvío a poner en venta como producto de devolución.
