I like pastels but the downside is you can't varnish them like oil paints I attempted this and it took away the vibrant potency of the colour. You can use fixative etc.. but behind glass is the best protector. This brand is one of the best.

Sennelier's are the second softest pastels I own after my small set of Terry Ludwig. So soft that they really go fast. I've got pastels inherited from my grandmother that seem to last forever but these just melt onto the paper. Not the best for beginners perhaps for that reason, or maybe why not just dive in and see what magic happens.My ONLY disappointment is that I bought this set hoping to add colors to my Paris collection of 120 colors and sadly this set is a subset of that collection with almost no unique colors but a few skin tones. Sennelier has hundreds of colors available, why not share them?

Sehr weiche Pastellkreide. Lassen sich gut auftragen, auch auf andere Pastell-Schichten.

Fidèle à sa réputation. Le choix des couleurs peut paraître surprenant pour du portrait. Pastel tendre très couvrant.
