Sensory Mats (Farm)

This set of six farm animal themed sensory mats are really cute. They measure 9 x 6 inches, and are a good size for children to hold.Each mat is a different animal and the front of the mat is covered in a fabric that replicates the animals coat, so lots of different textures for a child to explore. At the top of the mat is a cartoon style animal head made from a felt type fabric. The mats are also edged in this same felt like fabric. it is a bright and colourful set.There is also a metal ring that can be used to attach all of the individual mats together. However it would work better if the holes on the mats were at an end rather than in the centre because the animal heads get in the way of the ring not allowing the mats to turn over smoothly.Although this set looks cute the quality is very average and not the most neatly sewn. I think at £14.99 at the time of ordering they are overpriced.

I originally purchased these to use as a decoration for my toddler's farm themed party. We placed one on every table so the children could have something to touch and feel while waiting for the next activity. My toddler is also a sensory seeker, so these were perfect for him to rub when the party became a little too overwhelming. Since the party both of my children have used these and played with them and they have become a favorite toy around the house. The touch is very "realistic" for a child and just enough to help my child with sensory needs. I am going to be ordering more to have in my car.

Great for my son who has extra sensory needs due to his autism! These are a great addition to the toy box as they are so versatile! Ideal for flapping with too & each piece has many tactile touches too! 🥳These can be utilised in many ways which includes communication skills!

This is going to be something for younger kids for sure. We use these at a preschool program for kids who have sensory issues. The quality of the material these are made out of is pretty good as well. I think they will last for quite a long time of use thankfully. Overall just good sensory items!

These sensory mats vary in size a bit at approximately 7” H x 6” W’ the overall height is about 2 ¼” – 2 ½” taller counting the cute animal head images. The textures are a bit different for the sheep, horse, pig, and cow, and pretty similar for the duck and chicken; these 2 have the appearance of feathers but not really the texture (my minor nit). My concern is the cow has an attached label stating, “Keep away from fire.”; I would not allow a child to use this one unless it was literally by an attentive adult (hopefully this label applies to only the cow mat). These also come with an easy on / off metal ring so all of the mats (which have metal ring loops) can be keep together when not in use. These sensory mats are nice and I would consider them 5 stars but the “Keep away from fire.” Label is concerning to me.
