Dachte auch erst, das kann nicht passen. Aber man muss die Kette nur mit etwas Kraft nach innen drücken mit beiden Daumen. Keine Angst da geht nix kaputt. Dann macht es plötzlich Klick.

Overall the link does it's job. It is easy to lock. Pretty hard to unlock. But again that is just done once in a while.However one should know in advance that pin width of this Shimano SM-UG51 Quick-Link is 7.5mm. That should be fine for 7.8mm and 7.3mm 6-8 speed chains, however some Shimano 6-8 speed chains have pin width 7.1mm and these 0.4mm difference might matter. I've found that the quick link touches the front derailleur on some shifter positions and produces slight noise each time they meet. Could not get rid of the noise completely by tuning the shifter, so will try KMC link with 7.1 width.Update after about a year of usage:Taking the pin out and putting it back was always a reason for me to wait with the cleaning until the chain is annoyingly dirty. Man, it is just so much easier with the link so I'm asking myself why haven't I bought it before ?! I use one of these Shimano links and one from KMC on another bike, both do their job perfectly. Highly recommended.
