Shimano roestvrijstalen brake kabel (1.6x2050-mm)

Perfect fit for the Weinmann brakes of my vintage Schauff bike. Insertion into existing housing was easy. Just used a drop of oil. Cable seems to be of good quality steel.

Works well, as it should.

Not sure how to "love" a break cable I just met. So for now I just like it. It fit my break lever and was long enough to reach to my new cable actuated hydraulic brake calipers so it worked perfectly so far. Seems like there was minimal friction between the cable and housing and the cable was soldered well at the free end making it very easy to install.

In case you need some product dimensions: the part that connects to the brake handle assembly is mushroom-shaped; head is 0.240 inches, stem is 0.139 inches and top-to-bottom is 0.441 inches. The cable is 1.6mm x 2m and the far end appears to be brazed so it does not unravel. I wrapped some electrical tape twice around the cable prior to cutting it with diagonal pliers, aka diags or dikes to eliminate unraveling. The product includes a cable clamp ferrule to permanently hold the end together after cutting.This is a perfect replacement on my 1977 Motobecane Super Mirage with the original brake cables & pads. While I was replacing the rear brake cable, I replaced all four brake pads with the Dia Compe 76 Grey Matter Brake Pads (bag of 4). It's just like new now.

Got this product to replace a broken cable and it was super easy to install and has held up extremely well. Really happy with this purchase.
