Literally a little rough around the edges but nothing that wasn't fixable within 60 minutes of tlc. Remove the swarf, re-tap the hole for the blade adjuster, flatten the sole and flatten and sharpen the iron. Having done that, the result is a sweet little plane.

I am an avid woodworker with all kinds of tools and finally got tired of using chisels and sandpaper to clean up inside corners on various dado joints and tweaking dado depths. This tool is very well constructed and has saved me a TON of time not to mention providing superior results relative to alternate approached. Like other tools, now that I have it I find myself using far more than I thought I would. If you build lots of cabinets and such I would highly recommend this tool and would clearly purchase it again and earlier in my life.

Great little plane for those specialist rebate conditions! Internet indicates quality issues on some receipts, could be the country of manufacture (rust, no top foot adjustment, etc). My product was made in India, very happy with quality and state of plane as received vs far more expensive alternatives, including adjustable top foot mechanism.

Working on a mission style table and six chairs with a pile of mortise and tenon joints. Normally I would have bought the Leavalley tool, but they were out of stock, so thought I would try this. After I honed the blade and put the tool back together I was very impressed with how well it worked. It is a nice size and perfect for cleaning up machine cut tenons in a project like this. Saved me a lot of work and definitely resulted in a better finished product.
