For this price I did not expect some higy quality and to perform right of the box but this tool has major fault in the production. Blade is not sharpen to any grit, it has few nick in the edge and it is 1mm thinner than the plane sole so you can not cut full size rabbet as sole will ride on the wood. Blade is also poorly made so you can not protrude blade far on the side and you can not make sharp corner cut. Blade depth adjustment is poorly made and it is protruding 4mm in the iron bed so blade is not in contact with the bed. Iron bade is rough and full covered with junk of paint so iron is rocking on it.Nicker for cross grain cutting is in reality only screw, there is no any nicker blade so you can not use it for cross grain cut. I have replace this with marking gouge disk blade and smaller screw but it is noSome thing you can repair and get it to cut, but overal it will never perform as it should. After few hours grinding sole and the side and repairing depth adjustment, I manage to get decent finish and straight sole and some performing. I don't recommend this to anyone, only if you have machine shills to repair it.

I'm very happy with this purchase. The plane i received was not exactly as pictured, it was better, being black painted and had the two bar fence guide so less potential movement. Great plane for the money, sharp blade and usable out of the box once adjusted correctly. Best though to clean, set up and hone the blade further.
