Ok, first things first; this Silverline Digital Vernier Caliper cost me just over £10 from Amazon (RRP £19.45) so the important thing to bear in mind when offering a critique is how this compares with other similar models in relation to it's price.This is one of those tools that I have always wanted for my shed, having used one extensivey doing metal work during my A Levels (this is nearer to twenty years a go than I would like!), I always appreciated it's usefulness and it really taught me the importance of making my calculations as accurate as possible.The problem has always been that they have either been restrictively expensive or I have had another item or tool that I required more.However through the gradual process of using my wages (and by requesting as gifts) I have managed to purchase a steady supply of DIY related products over the past ten years or so; I am now in the fortunate position of having just about every tool that I will require to do the sort of work I like (don't get me wrong here, I'm not suggesting I could run a factory though!). So now I spend some of my money each month buying gadgets and work aides that will not only improve the quality of my work, but they will also give me some genuine pleasure and enjoyment.This is where these Silverline Digital Vernier Caliper's come in!On reviewing the range of Digital Vernier Caliper's available it immediately becomes clear how much they can vary in price (and presumably quality); but I was surprised at just how many different models were available from Amazon at around the twenty pound mark (this being the upper limit I had set myself for a tool that may prove to be extremely useful, but at the same time may get only limited use).So how did I decide?Ok, firstly it's a Silverline product; I have developed a respect for this brand, they offer competively priced products that compare favourably (apart from the odd occassion) with those of a a much higher price. Silverline offer guarantees on most of their products, many of the hand tools have a lifetime guarantee; many of the electrical items also have a guarantee of some sort, this item itself has a three year guarantee (as long as it is registered online within thirty days of purchase).This shows me that Silverline have a confidence in the quality of their products; through some limited research I could find no evidence that any of the other Digital Vernier Caliper's available from Amazon (especially those of around the same price, but also on many occasions those models being sold at a price many times higher) offered guarantees of anywhere near this length, at best one year, indeed if at all!The Caliper's themselves have a good solid feel about them, they definitely have a quality of build that genuinely surprised me, although I won't push this too far because it is important to remember that they are a sensitive and accurate instrument that should be treated accordingly, and could be rendered useless if just simply dropped. This explains why they come in a sturdy little case, with an inlay moulded to hold the tool securely when in storage on transit. It can produce very accurate measurements (especially considering the price paid) of internal, external and depth in either metric or imperial; and is easy to use, with just a quick read of the supplied instructions being necessary to start using it as intended almost straight away.The battery situation was slightly odd!I was aware that the Caliper's came with a supplied battery , indeed there was still one its blister pack in the storage case; however, there was also a battery already installed in the tool. This was flat and obviously of no use, however I can't quite decide whether this wasn't just a mistake (ie the pre-installed battery was an accident) or an unusually generous offering (how many products give you two sets of batteries included?!) that unfortunately didn't quite work out as planned!I'd like to know, so answers on a postcard please................This device is ideal for someone like me, someone who loves DIY and spends most of their time (and money!) trying to make their home as nice as can be; someone who is rarely happier than when working away on a project in their shed, Radio 2 playing, on a sunny day.Another winner from Silverline!

Die Qualität ist leider ungenügend.Mit einem Lineal kann man genauer messen.Die Digital anzeige greift nciht richtig auf dem Schieber und rutscht durch. selbst wenn man mit dem drehrad verschiebt ist keine genaue Messung möglich.Das Produkt ist damit nur als Dekoration nmutzbar. nicht dafür wofür es gedacht ist.Der billigste und schlechteste Messchieber den ich je hatte. selbst die 10€ Teile sind besser.

Ottimo strumento di altissima precisione, misure interne ed esterne, si può misurare sia in millimetri che in pollici, le misure risultano perfette.

J’ai détourné son utilisation, je suis chausseur professionnel et j’avais besoin de mesurer au millimètre près et le plus précisément possible les largeurs des pieds. C’est parfait.Je recommande
