I got this for the backplane and the hotswap that comes with it. After having set it up all the disks, it works as expected on a Ubuntu server. Pop the disk out, get a message that it's gone, raid is continuing on. Pop it back in, it turns back up under lsblk, add it back to the raid, and done.Main reason I got it is working and I'm content.Things of note:The documentation asks that the power connectors of the backplane come from different PSU cables. So don't use 1 cable to power them all, 1 separate cable per power plug.This made the cable management somewhat harder, but certainly do-able. Be sure to use flexible SATA connectors, not harder ones. There's not a lot of room, but it's still decent.Comes with fans pre-installed.Be sure to check your motherboard bios, you have a motherboard that requires its own settings to indicate a drive connection is hot-swappable. If that's defaulted to not-hotswap and you didn't change it, that could still be a problem. But that's on the motherboard.

Case arrivato con un giorno di anticipo, ma ormai Amazon è una garanzia. Esteticamente è molto bello, linee eleganti che non lo fanno sfigurare in salotto. Le dimensioni sono abbastanza contenute -me lo aspettavo più grande- ma lo spazio all'interno non manca.Comunque l'ho preso solo ed esclusivamente per le performance, dopo aver visto le review online, e devo dire che è una galleria del vento ;) Quello che non mi piace invece sono i cavi delle ventole classici gialli e rossi (tutti neri erano un tocco di classe in più) e mi aspettavo anche che la cover dell'alimentatore fosse removibile, invece sia quella che le gabbie per gli hdd (a cui si accede dal pannello laterale) sono rivettate allo chassis. Comunque a questo prezzo nessuno vi dà prestazioni simili e 4 ventole preinstallate ! sicuramente il miglior case in assoluto per rapporto qualità prezzo

Used this case to turn the parts of an old gaming PC into an Unraid NAS. Does the job, no thrills, but no issues either. Drive bays have a kind of back plane of sorts, the only annoyance with it is the different power inputs, instead of being all SATA or all MOLEX mine uses a combination of both. No big issue, just worth noting, as some modern power supplies have limited molex connectors supplied.

Ho acquistato questo case perchè ha 8 alloggi per HD da 3,5" e due da 5,25" e lo terrò solo per questo motivo ma sono molto contrariato dal fatto che è un case microscopico! Ho dovuto rinunciare ad installare una scheda video GTX1080ti che risulta essere troppo lunga e non ci entra. Lo spazio a disposizione è di circa 24cm, quindi se avete schede più lunghe, lasciate perdere questo case. Dico io, che ci voleva a farlo più lungo? Lo spazio interno è poco e come potete vedere dalle foto, è difficilissimo metterci le mani. Con un dissipatore per CPU come quello che uso io, è quasi impossibile. Ho acquistato una RTX3070 che è lunga circa 23cm sperando che all'interno del case non si accumuli troppo calore. Di solito non overclocko ma se lo dovessi fare mi sa che avrò problemi, speriamo bene.Un'altra nota di demerito: con lo spertello frontale chiuso, bisogna fare molta pressione sul pulsante di accenzione perchè praticamente il pulsante dello sportello deve pigiare sul pulsante del case.La cosa positiva è che le 3 ventole del case sono molto silenziose.

Ah bah oui, dans un boitier où il y a des disques durs mécaniques empilés les uns au dessus des autres (dans des berceaux en plastique ou pas) ça génèrent des décibels quand ils travaillent, mais ce boitier en atténue correctement les vibrations qu'ils produisent. Et devinez quoi ?Pour ce prix et genre de conception j'ai jamais vu mieux !Ce SILVERSTONE fait largement le taf que j'attends de lui comme boitier mini serveur. On peut s'attacher à lui trouver des tas de défauts mais dans ce cas là on s'achète du matériel pro, plus solide, moins milieu de gamme ...Même les deux ventilateurs 12cm pour les HDD sont relativement silencieux à plein régime, rien à voir avec ceux des années 2000 par exemple. Avec 8 HDD mécaniques récents du genre 5400 ou 5900 RPM et pourquoi pas en changeant par deux ventilateurs 12cm plus soft on peut le laisser discrètement dans une pièce à vivre.Une excellent produit, merci à SILVERSTONE de nous faire encore profiter de ces types produits à un coût respectable !!!! + livraison express de la part d'AMAZON.
