There are not a lot of trs to xlr female cables, most are male. In stead of buying a new mic, I bought this cable to connect my Rode NTG2 to my camera and it works like a charm. Very happy with the results.

Ich habe mir das 3,5-mm-Miniklinken-auf-XLR-Kabel geholt, um endlich auch mein hochwertiges XLR-Headset unterwegs nutzen zu können – vor allem auf LAN-Partys. Und es funktioniert absolut einwandfrei. Das ich da vorher nicht drauf kam. Andere Adapter geholt, weil ich fälschlicherweise dachte, dass der Klinkestecker am Headset ein TRRS Anschluss sei. Irrtum.Das Kabel macht einen sehr soliden Eindruck, die Stecker sitzen fest und wackeln nicht. Die vergoldeten Kontakte sorgen für eine saubere Signalübertragung, ohne Störgeräusche oder Qualitätsverlust. Mein Headset klingt damit auch am normalen Klinkenanschluss richtig gut – fast so, als wäre es direkt an einem Audio-Interface angeschlossen. (Leider daher nicht ganz so laut)Besonders praktisch: Das Kabel ist nicht zu dick oder steif, lässt sich also gut transportieren und problemlos in der LAN-Party-Tasche unterbringen. Genau das, was ich gesucht habe, um nicht auf ein zweitklassiges Headset ausweichen zu müssen.Kurz gesagt: Wer sein XLR-Equipment auch mobil oder an Geräten mit 3,5-mm-Klinke nutzen möchte, ist mit diesem Adapterkabel bestens bedient. Für mich ein kleines Teil mit großem Effekt.

There's a little less solder than some for the internal wires, but quality matters more than quantity there anyway; and it has some glue that should make it more resistant to breakage than a lot of cables that just use solder. The nylon spiral snaps back well, after it's been stretched out in normal use.As another reviewer pointed out, it's main use should be to connect a mono source to a TRS connection. This is not a balanced or stereo cable (neither of which are expected or needed to connect a mic to a camera). If you want to use this to connect your phone to a speaker or mixer, you'll at least need an adapter to turn the male XLR end into a female XLR end. I did that, and my phone still only successfully connected to the mixer some of the time. If successful, you'll still be connecting it in mono. That's also the norm for a PA system, but many consumer speakers accept and reproduce a stereo signal.In summary, the description should be a little less liberal as to what this is used for. Still, it might be just what you're looking for.
