I bought this monopod for a very specific job where I knew I would need it to double as a freestanding tripod.Clearly it’s not going to be stable as an actual and full sized tripod but this project would not have allowed me to work with something so bulky and slow to set up.I own a Manfrotto and a Benro video monopod and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. The wider locking base of this unit is what caused me to buy it and it worked like a charm. It’s modularity and the fact that you can use the base by itself as an impromptu hi hat or tabletop tripod is a nice bonus.It can be a little more fiddly than a lever locking mono pod and the built-in panning is not a fluid mechanism so you will want to use a head with a fluid pan. But if it’s modularity and the width of the base are important to you I think this is a good purchase. If you just want an all-around good video monopod and the ability to lock it down so that it can stand on its own is not important to you then I would look at the other brands mentioned above.Either way, it is a great value and very well-made.

Ich muss mit dem Nagativen anfangen, er ist mir leider ein kleinwenig vom Durchmesser zu dick. Das ist aber jammern auf hohem Niveau.Jetzt ein Paar positive Dinge. Ich habe ihn für eine Australien Reise gekauft. Er nimmt alle erdenklichen Kugelköpfe auf, Auch mit einer Nikon D850 und großem Tele um die 5KG immer noch gut und stabil Benutzbar. Schön ausziehbar und arretierbar auf die benötigte höhe. Handschlaufe mit „Kompass“ um das Stativ auch als Wanderstock zu nutzen. Der Gummifuß lässt sich drehen um eine Spitze für glatte Oberflächen auszufahren. Vorsicht sehr Spitz!Durch das Carbon sehr leicht so das man keine großen Gewichte mit rumträgt.
