I bought a GW brand PoE camera and DVR combo a few years ago and the screw on case that protects the network cable from the weather while outside only got installed on two of the three cameras. I wasn't unable to find the original parts for the cam so I took a chance and ordered these and they fit perfectly. They screwed directly into the round female network dongle on the camera. The camera hasn't had any issues connecting to the DVR since installing the protective cap a few months ago so I'd say it's a good product so far.

Techs assume that CCTV camera dongles would be peachy without their waterproof connector covers outside as long as the connections are in a box. After doing several service calls and having a literal shelf of cameras with corroded ends from humidity or evidence of water condensation on the wire and going into the end, I ordered a bunch of these and deoxit to fix these issues.This cover works with wisenet/hanwha in addition to other cameras.TDLR USE THE WATEERPROOF CONNECTORS BECAUSE COPPER CORRODES.

Many of these waterproof connector covers require you to slide them onto the cable before you install the RJ45 connector. These will slip over an RJ45 connector so if you forget to slide it on first, or if you're trying to use it on an existing cable, you don't need to cut off the existing connector to install this cover.I do wish that they came with 2 sizes of the rubber seals because some of the cable I use is direct burial cable and it has a thick jacket. It's hard to get the rubber seal into the main body of the cover on thicker cable. But that's how all of these connectors are. I haven't seen any that come with two sizes of rubber seals.

Positive - It did mate well with some of the CCTV connectors on the cameras.Negative - If you are using a rj45 cable with a boot on it it will not quite slide over the boot.If you are making your own cables and can install this before putting on the rj45 connector you will be golden, it seems like it will fit over a bare connector (but you may want to check first), but if you have a connector with a boot on it - you may want to keep looking

These do NOT fit cat 6 cables...the hole in the round seal is not large enough. I tried a power drill to enlarge the hole but the material was too soft to get the drill bit to bite!
