For the price, the quality could probably be better: even though we've never used it as a halter but only in the car, the straps and body quickly showed signs of wear, including the reflective tape peeling off immediately. While I've thankfully never had the opportunity to see how it works in an accident, the shoddiness of the material in this situation makes me a bit nervous about how it would perform in another.The design also means that it's very easy for a dog to lie down but almost impossible to stand back up again (logically, it's a lot easier to slide down the V made by a seatbelt than to force something up it). So my dog will try to get up and realize that he's pinned down with his chest to the car seat, and then he flies into a panic trying to change position. And that, as seen in the picture, gets him all tangled up and I have to pull over to help him.To be fair, I've no idea how that could be improved without decreasing the level of safety, though, so it might be unavoidable--it's just good to know that it's not really accurate to say that a dog can easily lie down and get up again while strapped into it.On a positive note, I had some questions for the company about sizing and they answered promptly, personally, and helpfully. And it still seems to be the only car harness for dogs that passes the safety tests, so I would still buy it again!

Bottom Line - Convenient, lightweight, small, and most importantly SAFE for your pup. Dog harness crash testing has a long way to go, and most products don't truly protect your dog from getting injured or injuring others during a crash. This Sleepypod system is one of the few that is proven to work well. You won't regret this purchase, and your canine friend will thank you for it.Pros-Tested and proven. This is the most important criteria for me, and it was a must in my purchase of any vehicle harness.-Does not require you to latch into the baby seat hooks. It's as simple as stringing the seatbelt through the hoops.-Lightweight and small enough to be utilized as a regular walking harness *for short walks.* For instance, if I am making a quick run to my home department store and I want to take the dog, this Clickit can serve as a vehicle safety harness and a walking harness all in one. I would not recommend it for long walks, running, or hikes, however, as it isn't nearly as nimble, lightweight, and breathable as other dedicated sport harnesses (and it isn't supposed to be).Cons-The leash clips don't have enough slack, so it's a little more difficult than it needs to be to clip a leash onto both D-rings. Not impossible, but just more difficult than it needs to be.-The adjustability is not quite where I would like it to be. My dog has an interesting shape with a relatively large chest with a small neck. We had to buy the medium due to her chest size and weight, but the neck adjustment is ever-so-slightly too large even when adjusted as tight as it can be.

It seems like a great safety harness--soft padding on the chest side to absorb any impact. One bonus: my beagle was previously nervous in the car and I think the feeling of this harness around her makes her more comfortable due to its heft and snugness. Now she mostly just sleeps.

We take frequent car trips with our German Shepherd and I've been increasingly concerned for her safety in the event of a crash. If you've done your homework, then you already know that this harness is this only one with a passable rating after crash tests. I was slightly apprehensive after reading some reviews saying the dog didn't like it, but with safety in mind, I decided to try it anyway. Our GSD is 62 lb, and after measuring her I decided to order the large, which after some adjustments actually fits very well. This dog is rescue and tends to be quite nervous (even after two years and lots of progress) so I tried it on her in the house a few times first then took her on an afternoon outing. She actually did very well, was able to sit, lie and stand in the back seat, though admittedly couldn't really walk back and forth which I think initially annoyed her a bit, but she quickly just settled down and laid on the seat and fell asleep. We've actually had issues with her getting car sick recently and I think the lessened movement actually made a difference with that because for the first time in a long time, that didn't occur. (Added bonus!) Overall there was less movement of the dog on cornering and braking, so I can only imagine that obviously in the ultimate test, a crash it will hold up well too. The harness is constructed of heavy duty material with seatbelt style material where it is actually strapped to your vehicle seatbelt. Fairly simple yet smart construction. I'm happy to have peace of mind knowing our 4-legged member of the family is safer now.

This harness is great because it clips up either side of my dog and doesn’t have to go over his head, which he’s not keen on. It’s harder than I thought to feed the seatbelt through, but I’ll work on that. Very happy to have a top quality, crash tested harness for car trips that also looks great and is comfy for pup.
