Nice and solid cage kit for my camera. Real sturdy, safe stuff - great for how expensive my camera is, I want that thing to be safe! And this kit provides that safety, that makes me very happy.

I really like putting a cage on my cameras for the protection they add. This one fits very securely, with three points of securing. I also like the little trigger-shaped section at the battery opening. You just pull it and a small section moves out of the way so you can insert/remove the battery without blockages.My only criticism is the 'grip' area. It feels too chunky so even someone like myself, with very small hands, finds it awkward to reach the front custom button on the A1ii. Also, Smallrig describes the grip as "leather grip" but this is total nonsense. It is a textured plastic which has zero grippiness whatsoever. Consequently, I have had to spend an extra £7 for a roll of rubber adhesive tape to add a bit of resistance when I hold it. It really aggravates me actually, now that I'm describing it.It's definitely a lot to pay for a product that I consider imperfect but there are currently no other products available for this camera that don't cost even more!

For my Alpha 9 III, it is a well-engineered accessory that enhances both protection and versatility. Its three-point anti-deflection locking system secures the camera without needing to remove D-rings, while integrated pads prevent scratches. The cage features a built-in HawkLock NATO rail and Arca-Swiss plate, facilitating seamless transitions between handheld, tripod, and gimbal setups. Multiple mounting options, including 1/4”-20 and ARRI 3/8”-16 threads, cold shoe mounts, and QD sockets, allow for extensive accessory integration. An ergonomic hinged battery door improves grip and comfort during extended use. The inclusion of a magnetic wrench simplifies assembly and disassembly.It would be perfect if it comes with a nato rail or a built in nato rail instead of the nato rail plate.However, the integrated Arca plate does not fit the DJI RS 4 Mini gimbal, forcing users to add a separate Arca plate, which not only adds unwanted weight but also compromises balance, making handheld gimbal shots less stable. While this cage is solid overall, this design oversight can be frustrating for gimbal users looking to keep their rigs as light as possible.
