Als bekennender SmallRig Fanboy hatte ich hohe Erwartungen an diesen Cage.Um es kurz zu machen: Das Teil wurde allen meinen Anforderungen gerecht. Leichtgewichtig, aber dennoch stabil, schmiegt es sich mit exakter Passform an das Gehäuse der Lumix; keine scharfen Grate, keine unregelmäßigen Spaltmaße, keine unnötigen Ecken und Kanten, die die Haptik beeinträchtigen könnten.Die Anschlussgewinde sind zahlreich und von der Positionierung wohl durchdacht.Wieder ein perfektes Produkt von SmallRig zu einem sehr zivilisierten Preis.

Cheap rigs aren't usually well machined and screws tend to loosen over time. That is not the case with this SmallRig cage. It fits like a glove and is well machined. There are some quirks as far as access to the camera buttons and whatnot go. Every cage has this problem so I am not worried about it.

I'm not sure who designs their products, but whenever they release a good item, the follow-up product is always inferior. Take this GH6 cage, for instance; I purchased two of the earlier cages instead of the Black Mamba for the extra mount points. However, this new Hawklock cage design complicates the transition from my previous setup because they seem to have slightly changed numerous small features for some reason, adding very little value. They used to be a really good company, but I suppose the need to release new products and discontinue what worked constantly overshadows their ability to create thoughtful products. Hopefully, Neewer will fill the gap.

Der HawkLock Schnellwechselkäfig wird sehr sorgfältig verpackt geliefert. Der Metallrahmen ist absolut sauber und präzise verarbeitet und wirkt schlank und elegant. Der mitgelieferte Tragegriff ist bei Bedarf flott montiert. Mit der integrierten Schnellwechselplatte, der Montageschiene oder einem Cold Shoe ist eigentlich alles vorhanden, was man sich wünscht, ein echter Clou ist auch der magnetisch befestigte Montageschlüssel auf der Unterseite. Super!
