there isn't any measurements on container so you don't know how much is actually being pumped out, it will pump out oil or other liquids so it does work for that purpose but it could be finetuned some

This is a great alternative to budget fluid transfer pumps like the ones you might get from Harbor Freight, because they don't do very well with viscous fluids like gear oil. This pump is great for that reason. It's easy to clean and transfers 85W-140 gear oil with no problem. I especially like the stainless steel probe tip that allows for precise delivery. Admittedly, I can tell that it won't last forever, but it will last much longer than the budget pumps I've owned in the past.

Overall, this is a useful product that comes in handy, but it could be a little better. Unless you try to use it when oil is really thick or really cold it seems to work fine. The screw on cap for mine has occasionally popped off the threads and this would be much more user friendly if it has markers on the side for certain volumes (12 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, etc).For a fairly inexpensive pump it actually performs pretty well and having the insert tube with return hole in the cap is pretty nice for not making a mess when oil drains back out. It works really well for those times when you need to put a fair amount of oil into a small orifice that won't take a funnel, or you can't pour into directly due to accessibility or clearance issues. I've had my screw-on cap seemingly jump the threads twice already, which is concerning, but I can't guarantee that it somehow didn't get loosened on the threads somehow.The label on the bottle will probably fall off immediately once you get it, which isn't a huge deal. I would recommend securing the hose on the pump outlet with a fuel line clamp or something similar to make sure it won't pop off when under pressure. I'd also recommend making your own volume markers on the side of the jug, so you know exactly how much oil you're dealing with and don't need to guess. It's also easier to insert the metal tube into the hose if you lubricate it and carefully apply some heat.I'm not disappointed, but there are a few things that could make it a little better. Thankfully, it's not hard to make some of those improvements yourself. As long as the pump mechanism doesn't fail prematurely this is a decent value for the price.
