The 'Solpex Solar Step Lights 6 Pack, Solar Fence Lights Warm White, Grey' arrived in a plain box.I will start out with why I have given a 3 star rating; if this light is attached to the top of a fence post the on/off switch is the against the fence post so unusable, if the light is used to illuminate steps from either side the switch is on the outside so against the sides of the steps so again unusable.These are nice looking lights and if there are to be permanently left on access to the switch is unnecessary, however by turning them off, it is possible to ensure they are at full charge for a special evening.Although these lights can be used on steps, the steps must be in a position to receive light in order for the lights to charge.There are screw holes in the light to allow it to be attached to a fence post but for steps there are adhesive pads, though they may not be suited to a variety of surfaces.

These are excellent. In the summer the hold so much charge the lights stay on all night! Really happy with these

Tried two of the lights - they do not work. Even when having charged for a long time, they only stay on for a short while or just flicker and die. I have not permanently fixed them yet and even when tested in a dark room (after having been charged) they do not stay on. I have had a look at the trouble shooting section of the manual but cannot find a solution there.

This is a set of 6 Solpex Solar lights which can be used on steps or on fences/walls, there are a variety of choices when ordering these with either warm or cold light and white/grey or black shell to suit your garden. On arrival you need to switch the lights to the ON position for them to start charging although they do have some power already in them and when deciding where you want these you can either use the mounting tape provided or screw to the position you want.The light on these are of a good brightness and light up steps well in the darkness, they each have 24 LEDs and an ultra thin solar panel. I think these are a good price at £22.99 and give a nice cosy atmosphere to the garden whilst also a safety benefit if needed on steps. These seem to charge well in the day time and last well into the night once it starts to go dark. I really hope these last the winter as they claim to be windproof, waterproof and snowproof but we will see as time goes on. Overall a good product.

We have a couple of this style of lights at the step at the front of our house and they work really well, its quite dark out there and we've had several people miss the step over the years, we had painted a white strip on it but these have worked much better. The six in this pack turned out not to be quite the same as what we have, these can double as fence lights too it seems. These seem reasonably well made for what they are, the holes in the fronts to attach them to a fence seem a bit awkward and near the edge of them. That said I wouldn't want these on a fence personally as then the light shines directly sideways which seems a bit odd. As step lights they work okay, the only way to attach these is with a stick on pad, so once in place you can't remove them. They perform well and while not as well designed as some others I think the twenty pounds price for six of them is pretty good value.
