As an audiophile for more than 40 years, I'm pretty picky with the equipment I use (not CRAZY picky, but I do appreciate a good quality build). I bought this to use as a switch between two of my stereos so that each system can use the single subwoofer that I own. I don't have the room for another subwoofer, and I don't want to keep disconnecting/ reconnecting my sub, so being able to use it with two different systems at the flip of a (very high quality) switch is just perfect. Its build-quality seems very good; the box is nice, weighty metal, and the binding posts are of good quality. I didn't open it up to see how it's made inside, however. I was so anxious to try it out that I forgot to check, and now that it's connected, I don't want to undo it (lots of cables involved).This switching box works like a charm; the switch itself is robust, and snaps from A to B and back with a very solid snap. I perceive no loss in signal when using this switch versus prior to its installation. Since the two pairs of speakers are from the same company - Royd -, with one speaker being a Special Edition of the other, the subwoofer settings remain essentially the same. I don't even really have to adjust anything after switching from one system to the other, if I choose not to (although if I'm really picky that day, I'd have to increase the crossover just a smidgen for my Mk1 version). Anyhow, I digress...If you need a high-quality switching box to be able to switch between either two pairs of speakers, or two amplifiers, then this is the one for you. It's not super-cheap, but it's also not super-expensive, either (and you don't want a poor-quality switch just to save a few bucks, either).5-Star, Recommended Product.
