Itead Sonoff has really listened to their community of customers with the development and release of the Sonoff 4-CH Pro R2. Several improvements over the original Sonoff 4-CH: they separated the relay commons from the main line power and from one another (which allows the relays to each control a different voltage independently) but they also added a Normally Closed contact to each of the 4 relays (which allows for user designed interlocking between the relays). The addition of RF control also increases the functionality of the product using the RF remote 433MHz (sold separately). Now the relays can be controlled locally from the device using the buttons, remotely using the eWeLink app (free download), and from the RF remote. The LED indicators on the device and the graphics on the eWeLink app let the user know the state of the relays. Another great addition with the 4-CH Pro is the ability to power the device using either DC power using the barrel jack input or via AC power using the terminals. The device also can be voice controlled using ALEXA, Google Home, Google Nest, and conditional programming can be set up using IFTTT. The relays can be set for self-locking, inching, interlocking, and a combination of self-locking & inching using on-board DIP switches or using the eWeLink app. I have been using Sonoff products for several years and they provide excellent support when needed. They consistently continue to improve their products’ hardware and software based on user needs and user feedback. You simply cannot beat the simplicity, functionality, and quality of Sonoff smart devices, especially at this price.
