first of all, never ever buy ps5 digital edition console. always go for disc edition even though it's little bit expensive.you never actually own ps5 games when you buy them on your digital edition ps5 because all your games are in your account. someday you unable to retrieve your account or somehow it gets banned, boom! you can kiss goodbye to all your games.but, this disc drive make your ps5 from digital edition to disc edition so that you can buy second hand game disc, play games and sell them back to get some money back or keep them for yourself.if you are going to buy ps5, i recommended to but disc edition. buying ps5 digital edition then this disc drive separately will cost you more between 10 to 15 dollars than buying ps5 disc edition.now this ps5 disc drive is only for those people who own ps5 slim (model number starting with CFI then any number starting with 2. for example my ps5 model number is CFI-2008).there are good videos on youtube about how to attach this disc drive to your ps5.i guess i am the first one who bought this on 3rd august when it was launched on amazon because i was regretting ever since i bought ps5 digital edition and have been looking to buy this disc drive for a long time.now i finally own it and i am very happy with it.
