Geweldige hoofdtelefoon !!

I've used many headphones in low-mid price ranges and always wondered if the premium headphones worth their price. I tried a lot of models in tech stores and decided to go with Sony. The difference between XM4 and XM5 is not that noticable except the design. Considering the price difference, I chose this. I used the headphones for 2 months now and yes, it is worth it. The sound quality is so much better than the cheaper headphones and noticable by an untrained ear. ANC works fine but definetely does not block all the sound if you don't have any music on. I can't list all the features but the app is useful with a lot of options to play with. There is an option to add bass boost without changing the equalizer lines, that sounds best for me. The material quality feels premium but we'll see what happens to the coushins in long term use.

the sound doesn't compare to other headphones, plus you wear them all day and it doesn't bother you. I recommend mx4, more than mx5 hurt my ears, they hurt from the pressure put on them

Pros:-Good noise cancelling-lots of features in the app-comfortable fit-good for sitting still like work/school/travelling-good quality (material wise)-aux-to-aux cable + USB C charger + flight adapterCons-not good for working out/excessive movement-sit loosely on your head-take a long time to set upHere's a detailed explanation why:They're great, they have good quality, came in nice condition, great packaging and a proper protection case including a USB-c charger, an aux-to-aux cable and those ports you can use on the plane to listen to your movie. However, as you can see there's people saying they send them back regarding the fact that they're too loose or too wide. They're indeed not tight on your head and when you shake your head they do have a chance of fall off (depends on how rough you shake your head though) This is (probably) because they don't have much padding (they are comfortable around your ears though) near the ears. Basically they have enough padding to sit on your head comfortable but not enough to stop them from falling off after rough headshake. They might move a little on a regular day to day basis and they have a good chance of falling off if you're rushing or maybe working out. They have good bass and a good app to manage them with however they do take a longer time to set up. It isn't just connect and play if you want to use the app. You need a Sony account, set them up, pair them, update them, restart them et cetera. It took me about an hour which is horribly time consuming for some Bluetooth headphones.

My nerdy boyfriend spent a lot of time to choose headphones, he were choosing between this model and next model “The Sony WH-1000XM5”. The biggest difference between these two is best active noise canceling at last model WH-1000XM5. But for him it was more disadvantage, because he’s using his headphones every day while cycling or training at gym. So it was important to not block all sounds from outside.Everything else - materials, quality etc is really goodI gifted this headphones to him and now want to buy the same for me too :)

I've been using this model for 5 years now, and I love it. It is super comfortable to wear, perfect for travel (it folds up nicely and reduces noises like airplane or road noise very well). I ordered this as a replacement after my previous one broke (it lasted 5 years).

Hele fijne hoofdtelefoon die goed zit, een heerlijk geluid weergeeft met zeer goede noise cancelling.De eerste die ik drie jaar geleden bestelde had binnen twee weken een krakende hoofdband. Dit bleek een bekend euvel te zijn bij deze hoofdtelefoon. Daarna een nieuwe besteld die tot op de dag van vandaag (drie jaar later) nog steeds niet kraakt met dagelijks gebruik. Dus zeer tevreden!

Ich habe die Kopfhörer seit ein paar Monaten und kann direkt sagen: Sie erfüllen ihren Zweck perfekt. Die Geräuschunterdrückung ist fantastisch – selbst ohne Musik hört man kaum etwas. Wer sie für genau diesen Zweck kaufen möchte, dem kann ich sie zu 100 % empfehlen.Auch alle anderen Aspekte sind erstklassig: Klangqualität, Akkulaufzeit und die Steuerung über die App sind top. Ich habe sie mir gekauft, weil ich im Homeoffice arbeite und mein Nachbar einen Hund hat, der viel bellt. Zudem wohne ich an einer sehr lauten Straße, und meine einfach verglasten Fenster machen es noch schlimmer – ich höre jedes Auto. Es hat mich so sehr gestört, dass ich ernsthaft Angst hatte, meinen Job zu verlieren. Seit ich die Kopfhörer habe, fühle ich mich wie ein neuer Mensch. Ich bin viel ruhiger, kann konzentriert arbeiten und höre nur noch extrem laute Geräusche – und selbst die sind stark gedämpft. Es kommt nur sehr selten vor, dass etwas laut genug ist, um meine Konzentration wirklich zu stören.Ein Freund von mir hat ein Sennheiser-Modell in einer ähnlichen Preisklasse. Ich habe beide ausprobiert, und die Sonys waren mindestens genauso gut. With cable they don't use any battery and of course the Sony headphone app with it's equalizer doesn't work then either. I've tried them with and without a DAC (iFi) and they really have a lot of well sounding to deliver to it's user - especially with Hi-Res Lossless and Atmos track. They are easily driven when connected to a computer and the sound was amazing. Breathtaking. I couldn't believe what I was experiencing. Finding nuances in songs I never have heard before. Yes, bluetooth is great but with the cable they really come alive. At least IMHO. As with my XM4 in ear, the bluetooth connection works great and with Sony headphones app (tried on iPhone and iPad) where you can fine tune the equalizer to your liking. Some said that they are bass heavy, but IMHO I wouldn't say that. It's there but not overtaking as some reviewers have stated. Rather quite neutral. Left to test is the noise cancelling when outside so I can't say anything about that yet - but I imagine it's like my in ear XM4 and those take away engine sound, people talking and so on. If you decide to get these I don't think you will be anything but pleased. And for US100 less than the XM5 it's just great. And these head phone cups folds which the XM5 don't... And I have a Boose that are like that and it isn't great - aren't things supposed to get better and more innovative? What I mean is: Great to not feel like being strangled when you take them off and let them rest on your neck. Now I have over ear headphones that hopefully will last as long as my old ones: 20+ years... And with the flexibiity to use bluetooth as well. These are my only over ear from now on.
