I'm glad I didn't go by the negative reviews of these leg weights as they are perfect for me. I love the fact that the weight is adjustable so I can increase the weight over time. I have been ill and lost the muscle in my legs that I used to have, and injured myself trying to lift my old heavy homemade leg weights. Using these means I can build up gradually to my old level of strength. The weights are comfortable, the fabric is soft and stretchy, but they still appear strong and robustly made. I do my leg exercises sitting or lying down, so have not tried walking or running with them.
