As far as sit pads go, this is on the bulkier side. An inflatable unit will pack down much smaller. Other folding designs aren't much smaller, though. The manufacturer quotes 60g for weight, but I measured 89g (without the carabiner.) While that isn't a huge difference in pure mass, that's 48% over! Not cool, and the reason for taking a star away. I even tried two different scales to be sure. (With the carabiner, it measures 92g.) Other dimensions are correct, although when folded it's 1.5" at its thickest and 0.5" at its thinnest, which averages out to the quoted 1".Inaccurate weight aside, it's built pretty well and is very waterproof. Even putting the bottom side under my sink, I couldn't get water to soak in at all. Not even through the stitching. It isn't very plush, but has enough padding to deal with most surfaces. The bottom has a metallic coating, which should help insulate your butt from the cold or hot ground. For keeping your butt clean and dry when hiking, and smoothing out the ground slightly, it does great.Folding and unfolding the pad is extremely easy. Just fold it in half, then half again, and velcro on the bottom holds it together. I do have some slight concern the velcro might pick up debris from the ground, but that'll depend on where you're sitting.Quality feels great, with a very high-denier nylon fabric covering the seat surface, and a plastic/mylar-coated waterproof fabric on bottom. I'd be careful around sharp rocks, but otherwise it should be fine. Another strip of nylon for the edge rounds out the construction. I couldn't find any defects in the fabric, and the stitching is all perfect.Despite it being heavier than quoted, I do still recommend them. They're an absolute bargain, especially if you buy a two pack. While not the most plush, it's enough that they do their job well.

I didn't expect to like these so much. They are thick and sturdy for comfort but also can fold in 4 and tuck into a backpack. When my husband saw it he thought it was for stadium seating. The silver bottom allows heat to reflect and its quite comfy to sit on for prolonged times. I like these because when we hike and stop I often sit on a log or rock and have sat in wet, cold, or dirty spots. Also when car camping we've had campsites where I'd rather sit as close as a rock or log next to the fire, but again, wet, cold, hard, dirty. the olive green is a nice color because it won't show the dirt so much. The surface seems resistant to dirt but I imagine a surface wipe the same as I treat my self inflating sleep pad will do.
