Have used the grey version of this double-sided tape, brilliant stuff, can’t believe I’ve managed without it.

This is really useful tape, does exactly what it's supposed to do if used correctly. I used it to run the cables for my dashcam, I used Command clear plastic clips and instead of the Command adhesive pads, I used this tape cut to size on the clips.Before placing any clips, I cleaned all of the plastic/glass with alcohol, then I placed the adhesive tape on the clips, pressing it in place firmly for about 20 seconds or so.To peel the backing tape, I used a craft knife, I dug the point into the tape and picked the corner up, I had no problem removing the backing as some reviews suggest. (There is a 3M video about using the tape for many applications, Google it if needed) when placing the clips, I pressed them in place for 30 seconds each, just as you are supposed to do for Command adhesive if you want it to stay in place.So far so good, everything has stayed in place, all clips on smooth plastic, glass and textured plastic have remained in place. No hot weather yet, that will be the big test, but I don't think it will be a problem as my Command clips with Command adhesive survived many years on our old car before they finally fell off.Good quality product, good and sticky but not a problem to handle if you take your time, do the prep and do it properly. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but when a product does what it's supposed to do and lasts, then that's not so bad in the long run

Will not hold on aluminium. I have cleaned it perfectly and will still not hold.Works fine on other materials
