Makes pencils as sharp as you can imagine. Well-designed, too. I like that the small lid can be tucked away backwards for convenience. And that the container for the shavings doesn't come loose when you don't want it to.

I always had to go find a trashcan whenever I had to sharpen a pencil. But with this one I can just stay at my desk and be done with it. Very nice and inexpensive item that easily fits in a drawer or small pencil case.

This is just the basic Staedtler sharpener with black and yellow decals affixed, which is not on par with this company's other fine offerings.It sharpens well, an keeps the shreddings and lead dust sealed up, so there's no problem here with functionality.

The overall build is sturdy and easy to use. This model can be used for sharpening graphite as well as charcoal pencils. Overall it keeps up with the quality of Steadtler products. Very happy with it!
