Passer gekocht via Amazon Warehouse met aardige korting vanwege cosmetische schade. Deze was echter amper te zien.De passer zelf is van een goede kwaliteit. Het wieltje is net stroef genoeg om de benen onbeweeglijk te houden tijdens het tekenen. De pennenhouder is ruim genoeg voor de meeste potloden en pennen. Het tekenen van cirkels gaat erg vlot en accuraat.Waarom geen 5 sterren? De passer is van metaal maar de hulpstukken zoals de pennenhouder zijn van kunststof. Ik vraag me af of het kunststof zal breken na veelvuldig gebruik. Daarnaast is de doos erg moeilijk te openen als je verminderde kracht in de vingers hebt. En dat liniaaltje naast de doos? Volstrekt nutteloos.

De afbeelding en tekst spreken over de verlengstang, deze zit er helaas niet bij.

This the 4th compass I have ever owned & by far the best. When I first received it, I was disappointed that its body is plastic resin. But this actually makes it very lightweight & easier to use once you get used to it. It is solid & not the least bit flimsy. The blue center piece is metal so its just as precise, because the resin arms are anchored in metal. This compass is easier to adjust than any other compass, but also holds its setting more securely - once you learn how to hold it. This is a Japanese import so it will take longer to receive. Honestly my biggest disappointment is why this product is not sold in America. I guess everyone here wants a metal ones, but this compass is better than all the metal ones I have. perhaps if you work in construction or an industrial environment I could see the need for it to be more "indestructible" but for general use like drafting or art, this is the best compass you will find.

I bought this because I needed a decent compass with a pen holder. I had persevered for some time with an old but very solid drawing kit that used ruling pens and wasn't able to hold a fine liner or a pen. I think I was a bit put off by the product name "school compass", which made me think this might not be a serious bit of kit, but I was wrong. The hinge section is metal and very secure. The interchangeable legs are plastic, but look reasonably durable. Most importantly, the compass draws a good consistent circle with no creep either wider or narrower. The pen holder, which is what I bought the kit for, will hold a pencil, mechanical pencil or fine liner, and even an extra fine sharpie, and performs just as well with these attached. With the extension bar in place, I have the range to cover anything I'm going to need to draw on an A3 sheet of paper. The only limitation is at the smaller end of the range, where there's a practical minimum radius with pen holder of about 16 or 17 mm due to the pen touching the centre wheel thread.All in all a very good instrument at a very reasonable price.
