The steel sleeve gives far greater precision than the standard knife. It also extends the life of the The screw knob holds the blade tightly and prevents the blade from moving axial within the body much safer than the standard knife. Relatively expense.

Le mécanisme de verrouillage a été égaré, ce cutter n'est pas fonctionnel et ne supporte pas le frottement à l'intérieur d'une poche

Okay it's another Stanley knife - why keep introducing a new design?I can't answer that question but you're guaranteed a safe design with this; First the blade is held in a metal sheath so cannot slip out the side of the plastic moulding (or cut through the plastic!),second you can snap off (sounds obvious as it's a snap off design) the blunt section of the blade to reveal a nice sharp one- which in my experience "a sharp blade is less dangerous than a blunt one" in use ,thirdly the design keeps to a typical Stanley format so is similar when you want to change the blade:-The blade slides and is locked with a wheel, easy! Just turn clockwise to lock the blade, next to change a blade slide the blunt portion out (anti clockwise to unlock) so the blade snap mark line is at the end of the metal sheath then remove the yellow end section and insert the blade into it (there's a slot for this purpose) hold the yellow 'snapper' against a surface to stabilise it then turn the knife to stress the blade across the snap line until it snaps off. Refit the yellow snapper and reposition the blade, now a sharp end. It's worth removing and refitting the yellow end with the blade locked in with no sharp bits exposed so as to loosen the snapper a bit as it's a good tight fit and to do so before you need to use it and you can gain familiarity of the design if you've never used this type of knife before.NB: A blunt blade could slip in use as more effort will be needed to move it through the material to be cut which could lead to a sudden slip or change of direction so watch those fingers.A good blade and aesthetically it matches other yellow matching tools from the Stanley collection
