No good for car rust spots might have some other uses

Reminder - this is a tool to physically remove material from a surface that is harder than the glass fibers (or you would possibly cause a softer material to become scratched). It’s best uses that I have found so far is for cleaning corrosion/rust off of metal plates in electronic devices.Before you use it, I suggest doing a little research to prepare the right tools to use it in the most efficient/effective way possible *while also doing it SAFELY (try to not break off the bristles while using it).1-Something you can put under the metal you are trying to remove corrosion from (paper towel for example); that you are ok with throwing away after in case some of the ends of the glass fibers do break off and also to catch the removed corrosion.2-Ideally, you also have something that can aid in breaking down the corrosion chemically (and not any crazy toxic substance). This would also help reduce the amount of pressure/force applied to the bristles when you are brushing off the corrosion. I recommend DeoxIT D-Series (general electronic connectors) with precision dispenser to apply a small/adequate amount to the corrosion you want to remove (or G-series for gold plated electronic connectors).How I have used it to work best for me…First, turn off equipment and apply some DeoxIT and let it sit for a minute. Then I twist the star-brite pen to expose just enough length of the glass fiber bristles to reach to the metal plate that I am cleaning. It’s important to not over-twist the pen and extend the bristles too far out of the end of the pen as you are brushing the corrosion. Extending them further than needed far would expose them to excessive torque force being applied to the bristles at their “fulcrum” which would be at the opening of the pen and they would be more likely to break/snap off. I have not had any glass fibers break off so far even off of the first one I bought and it has payed for itself at least 50 times over reviving some electronic devices of mine and of my friends.

Amazing product to remove surface rust in fine areas! Had a small little dented area on the rear bumper of my truck after another car slightly bumped into it with its license plate. The dent was extremely narrow and surface rust started to form. Normal sandpaper or grinding tools wouldn't cut it and I spent so much time at local hardware stores trying to find a tool to do this job.Then I found this tool and it got the job done PERFECTLEY!
