These are very well made great handy tools that can be use for far more then just setting nails. There are decent cheaper options and if you’re really going to beat them up. I personally work in the more finish end of the industry these days so these make sense for me and will last a life time

It's not easy to find the larger sizes in this set, so this worked perfectly for us. We're shooting 2 to 2 1/2" finish nails through oak trim into dried framing members, so we occasionally get a proud one. These larger sizes work great for getting a good hold on the nail head without slipping off.

"Starrett taper pin starter" remains on back order for months with Brownells, but these are the exact same, cup tip punches, just labeled as nail sets. Within minutes of receiving these punches, I was using them to start the very "stuck" taper pins of my AR-15's front sight post. Hammered the heck out of them. Pins back out and the punches showed absolutely no damage. Well worth the money and when the other comes off of back order, I will keep it as a spare!
