I bought this to upgrade the networking capability on my Synology DS1019+, as that doesn't have 2.5GBE as an option.So, first things first...Windows 11 PC : Worked from the get-go just by plugging it in. Usual network configuration required in Windows, but once done - no issues whatsoever and does what it says on the tin.However, for Synology ....This is a failing of the Synology itself, rather than the adaptor, but I thought I'd mention the hassle you need to go through to get this to work on one (for those interested). I'm running DSM7.2, which does not include driver support for this device (or any device based on the Realtek RTL815x chipsets). However, you can download the driver files and install them manually using a combination of the package manager and SSH - it's a bit fiddly and not for the faint-hearted. (Not sure on link policies in review, so I'll leave you to google the rest).All in all, I have my office network all 2.5GBE now and linked to my DS1019+ and I've no issues thus far.

Ho acquistato questo adattatore di rete usb da 2.5G per sfruttare al meglio il passaggio alla FTTH. Devo dire che è decisamente performante e stabile. Ho utilizzato il prodotto per diverse settimane prima di scrivere questa recensione. Il chipset è il classico r8152 (qui nell'ultima revisione), installato sulla quasi totalità di scehde usb 2.5G, anche quelle economiche. La differenza in ambito affidabilità la fa il package e l'elettronica di gestione utilizzata da Startech. Infatti la scheda non scalda per nulla, in settimane di uptime non ho avuto nessuna anomalia. Performance sempre al top. La utilizzo con soddisfazione su Debian e su Windows. L'unica accortezza è utilizzarlo su usb almeno 3.0 o superiore, installare l'ultimo driver dal sito realtek,, avere un cavo di ottima qualità almeno un 5e, meglio un ftp cat 6,, con crimpature a regola d'arte e connettori di qualità e chiaramente tutto il resto del contesto a 2.5G (quindi FTTH, Router ed eventuali switch). Dirò un'ovvietà, ma se avete FTTH da 2.5G, un router con wan a 2.5G e lato lan a 1G, anche se utilizzate questo prodotto non supererete mai il gigabit! In conclusione, acquistate tranquillamente questo prodotto, costa qualcosina in più rispetto ad altre schede con lo stesso chip, ma ne guadagnerete in stabilità e tranquillità. Pagato circa 30euro, a questa cifrà è consigliatissimo!
