De PEX2S553 PCI Express seriële adapterkaart zet een PCI Express-slot om naar twee RS232 (DB9) seriële poorten. Deze 2-poort seriële adapterkaart is voorzien van een native ontwerp met enkele chip (geen bridge-chip), waarmee u de volledige capaciteit van PCI Express (PCI-E) benut en de belasting op de CPU met maar liefst 48% wordt verminderd ten opzichte van conventionele seriële kaarten. De RS232 seriële adapterkaart (PEX2S553) is compatibel met een breed spectrum van besturingssystemen inclusief Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 (32 en 64 bit), Linux Kernel 2.6.11 tot 4.11x, en MAC OS X 10.4 en hoger. Dit product geldt als vervanging voor onze PEX2S552-kaart.

As I've bought many StarTech devices in the past, I know the brand name for a quality product. This one is no different. Works great, adding two "old" DB-9 serial ports to my computer, which came with none of course, to run some ham radio devices.

I bought this product for use in a PC being used as a shop till system, requiring a serial port for the receipt printer and another for the credit card machine. The PC is a Win7 32-bit machine.Installation was fine and the product is now in daily use without problems. The biggest problem I had was working out which numbered serial port (COM2, COM3 etc.) corresponded to which physical socket in the card.If you need extra serial ports for your PC this card will do the job.

I bought this so I could console into my Cisco switches and im happy to say that it works perfectly without a hitch. Windows 8 installed it without the extra driver cd supplied so installation was quick and simple. Highly recommended.

Excellente carte. Montage dans un PC tour sans problème, juste que le pilote sur le cd fourni n'a pas fonctionné. J'ai dû le téléchargé sur le site de la marque. Pour info le site de StarTech est super bien fait. J'ai aussi contacté le service technique avant l'achat pour avoir des renseignements, et le service m'a répondu dans la journée ,bravo à eux.Dans la boîte la doc est en Anglais mais on la trouve en Français sur le site de la marque.Certes le prix est assez élevé mais ayant eu des déboires avec une carte à bas coût, la qualité se paie.Je recommande donc StarTech qui pour moi est une marque sérieuse et de qualité.
