With the desire to make laptops thinner and lighter and easy to maintain, it feels like they're building them specifically to require docking stations and external hubs like this. Well, I guess mini PCs as well. So, these are almost a necessity to have on hand for when you need to plug 2 things into that ultra-thin device.Ok, I know Bluetooth is the answer - SOMETIMES. But not everything has the capability. So, a hub it is. Also, don't scrimp on the price - get one that will last a long time and provide the speed you need. I would have liked to have seen some 'c' ports on it, but of course those can be converted so maybe also pick some of those up while you're at it.This is nice and easy for travel, or use on your desktop whilst working remotely.

Seems to be working fine, gets very warm when in use but not dangerously so. No issues.

The Cable is also USB-A.This is a very compact 4-Port USB-A Hub, so ideal to keep in either an IT Toolkit, or with a Laptop, should you need to expand a Computer’s USB-A Ports, be those USB 1.1, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0.𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵.𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝟰-𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗨𝗦𝗕-𝗔 𝗛𝘂𝗯 – 𝗜𝗻 𝗨𝘀𝗲This worked straight away, and I saw no bottlenecks when transferring Data.The Hub is not powered, but will be fine with USB Memory Sticks, or a Keyboard and Mouse. I have a few mini hubs I’ve traveled with or used with my laptop. It just depends on your needs, but for this one you’re basically just going to expand the capability of a laptop with one USB-A or in my case, an older MacMini. I have files I keep on some older computers and this allows me to set up a station and connect older peripherals to it when needed. Definitely fast enough for my purposes and my favorite part is it takes up very little space.As for value, there are others out there with a little more capability for the same cost.
