First, let me say that I’ve never been disappointed with StonyLab apparatus. They are a first rate, quality, and upstanding name in this business. Amateur and pros alike can rely on StonyLab to get it right. I’m not just saying this because it’s a Vine review. I have purchased many, many items that were not offered through Vine. Also, I am in no way affiliated with the manufacturer or such, I am just an amateur chemist that dabbles in electrochemistry when the need or want arises.This apparatus was exactly as it was advertised. No small print, no twisting of words… If what you need is a 5mm x65mm AgCl ref electrode, this will meet your needs. It’s guaranteed and even offers a breakage compensation if you somehow accidentally break your apparatus during use. So like I said, StonyLab is a standup company that I am happy to do business with.Edit: I have updated this review to remove a concern I had that the item received had been previously used. I have since found out that the cause for concern was in fact normal. It’s an excellent reference electrode for a very reasonable cost.

I have a stonylab H-type electrolytic cell that this works PERFECTLY in, fits like a glove. Does not come pre-filled with KCl (potassium chloride), but this is a chemical pretty much every chemist on earth has and uses. I even eat some periodically. Mmm, delicious potassium chloride. (Note to the layman: potassium chloride is also known as "No Salt" and is sold at the grocery store - so this is 100% safe.) Anyway, it's easy to fill, then soak it for half an hour and you're ready to rock.I want to point out that these electrodes aren't secure very well in the box, and if you're not very careful when opening it, it may decide to fall out on the floor, so be 100% careful when unboxing this, glass reference electrodes don't tolerate dropping very well.This is literally about the best deal on an Ag/AgCl electrode I've ever seen. Most from a chemical supplier will run you $300+, no lie. The fact they're able to produce this at this price is pretty outstanding. I can't recommend it more highly, what a deal. 5 stars.
