My 57 Apache truck's previous owner thought fiberglass mesh was a good way to repair a 10 x10 inch hole in the firewall! And of course they butchered the dash with a single din radio, I mean hacked it up! SO...with the help of this little dude, I cut replacement metal and rebuilt it all. This was my "outside" hand and my "under the Dash" hand, holding my metal up as I welded. Can't tell there was ever a repair now. Love it, strong and easy to use.

It worked for me to plug up bolt holes with a mig welder.

The backing plate doesn't set as flat against the metal as I would like. Tightening the screw enough to hold the plate in proper alignment often over powers the magnets and lets the hole plug fixture release from the metal. The fixture does work but not without considerable effort.
