Looked online for a Quirrel feeder. The wooden ones seemed to get damaged quite quickly by the quirrels.So found this metal framed one,looked at the reviews, and could see it needed a few modifications. I added a step so the squirrels could get to the bottom of the feeder as the feeder tube is quite tall. I could have used a square piece of wood, but I 3D printed one. I added a metal rim to go around the top of the perspex tube, as some squirrels have gnored other peoples feeders, I could have used a large jubilee clip.But I used a large jar lid. When mounting mine I make sure the lid came up against a wooden cross bar, this stops the lid opening to far and jamming open, so if mounting this on a post, I suggest adding a square peice of wood above the lid to stop this happening. I've had no issues or damage with the squirrels feeding from this feeder, so hope it lasts a long time.

My squirrels love this. They fight over it. It keeps most of the birds out (they have their own feeders.) A few of the larger birds can get in. It keeps the food dry. This is my second purchase because it was no match for a hungry brown bear.
