Excellent quality and lays flat without moving around

Great bath mat. Very slim so avoids mat getting caught when door is open.

This tells you about how absorbent it is, I find that it really depends on how you step out of the bath/shower....If you mostly dry off before you get out, the modest amount of water you take with you as you step out will quickly be absorbed but will also evaporate quickly.If you step out before you dry yourself, the large increase in water you take with you ends up in a puddle, it won't be absorbed by the mat & just stays there far too long.The absorbent layer is very thin, so can't cope with a fully wet person dripping onto it.The underside of the mat is rubbery, so grips the floor well, it also helps make it pleasant to stand on, in bare feet.Overall, it's a much thinner mat than a carpet style mat, so if you have a bathroom door that swings into the space where this mat would be placed, the door will most likely pass over the mat without catching. This is a real consideration for us in our Jack & Jill toilet. Regular style mats can catch the door, so despite the moderate absorbency levels, it's scoring higher in other ways. A slightly trade off in our eyes.

This bathroom mat came tightly and neatly rolled up in a clear plastic tube for the packaging, which did the job well enough, as it kept it perfectly clean and protected in shipping. Thankfully they rolled it up with the top side facing outwards, so when you unroll the mat it’ll naturally want to curl inwards toward the floor, so it’ll have no problems laying flat right away. It did have some minor creasing from the packaging but after leaving it overnight they naturally worked themselves out without any intervention or drama.The mat kinda looked, felt and smelt like a mouse mat as I unpacked it, it even had that distinct rubbery smell of a brand new mouse-pad. So with this being suspiciously similar to a table-top mouse mat I wasn’t entirely sure how well it would work when compared to a fabric style bathroom mat. Pushing my negative expectations aside I placed it in my bathroom right outside the shower and proceeded to give it a good splash of water to see how it’d handle that. It performed surprisingly well and while it’s not going to soak up a huge amount of liquid it easily handles day to day drips or splashes from typical bathroom use. It also performs great when it comes to the grip side of things, the rubber bottom stays firmly planted on my bathroom floor and it genuinely hasn’t shifted with several weeks of use.So I guess there really is something else going on in the construction of this and it isn’t just a rebranded mouse-mat. It definitely absorbs water easier than a standard polyester mouse mat and on the flip-side it also gets rid of that water far quicker. It’s also got a very grippy top surface that feels nice to the touch and I find the mat itself very comfortable to walk on with bare feet, as it’s got a good amount of give with the sponge bottom and it rebounds very quickly once you’ve moved off it.The pricing on the 70cm by 45cm rectangular mat I ordered isn’t too bad at £13.99, as you’re getting a relatively large mat for the money that has had no issues with continued use in my bathroom. If I do run into any concerns or issues I'll be sure to update the review, but so far this has been a solid bathroom mat.
